Dear Members of our Fulbright Community:

Soon we will be giving thanks for all the blessings we have received during this year.

As you know, Thanksgiving is a wonderful American tradition during which we give thanks and pray to the Almighty for His Benevolence. It was first celebrated in 1621 in Plymouth Massachusetts when the Pilgrims wanted to express their gratitude to God for surviving their treacherous journey across the Atlantic Ocean and for a bountiful harvest which would allow them to survive the winter in their New Land.  That first Thanksgiving they also welcomed the Indians at their table in gratitude for the help they had provided.

The Fulbright office in Ukraine also has a tradition of bringing together family and friends – old and new—around a Thanksgiving table.

We invite you to join us in a prayer of thanks and a meal of turkey and trimmings

on THANKSGIVING DAY, Thursday, November 28, 4:00 pm,

at the Victor Kytasty American Library at the National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy, 8/5 Voloska Str., building 4 #116

EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
