Truman Day is a U.S. commemorative holiday to celebrate the birth of Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States. It is celebrated May 8 each year. Truman led the United States through the end of World War II and during the great shifts in international politics in the late 1940s and early 1950s. After his presidency, he returned to live in his native state Missouri, where he founded the Harry S Truman Presidential Library and Museum.

On Wednesday, May 7th students of elementary school were participating in Children's Library Club in American Library Kyiv. New program, designed by our volunteers, Elissa Sperling and Kristina Banna, made children energetically learn English vocabulary, sing songs, read poems and watch kid's movies in English. 

In United States National Nurses Day is celebrated annually on May 6 to raise awareness of the important role nurses play in society. On this day we decided to point out that everyone could perform medical help if necessary. We picked books on First Aid, preventing diseases and home family treatment.
