Language of Performance and Readings: English and Ukrainian

Ukrainian and American poets and performers who have appeared at the legendary Bowery Poetry Club in New York will perform their work in Ukraine. Bob Holman, the founder and proprietor of the Bowery Poetry Club, will kick off the evening by reading his own poems, which also will be read in Ukrainian translations by Kateryna Babkina. The event will also feature readings of Babkina’s own work and a reading of renowned contemporary Ukrainian writer Serhiy Zhadan by Ukrainian actor Mykola Shkaraban. Both Zhadan and Babkina have read at the Bowery Poetry Club. New York’s Yara Arts Group will read English translations of their work by Virlana Tkacz and Wanda Phipps. The event will also feature bandurist Julian Kytasty and singer Susan Hwang who accompanies herself on the accordion.

The George Washington University will be giving a presentation in Kyiv!

Come and learn about engineering degrees in the US!

We are happy to invite you for a special presentation delivered by Brittany G. Wright, M.A.E.HD., Senior Coordinator of International Programs and Admissions, School of Engineering and Applied Science, The George Washington University.

The presentation will be held on September 28, 2013 at 10:00 at the Viktor Kytasty American Library (National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, 8/5, Voloska str.)

Mrs. Wright will talk about:

  • - how to apply to a US college or University
  • - what US institutions are looking for in international applicants
  • - pursuing an engineering degree in the US
  • - The George Washington University presentation and its offerings, in particular graduate Engineering and Computer Science programs

 Participation is free of charge. No registration is required.
